The Bar-Code editor allows the user to update bar-codes for the current item list held by Pocket Inventory. Once the new codes have been entered and saved, the user can begin scanning that item into Pocket Inventory with the new bar-code immediately.
This section covers the following topics:
To modify a bar-code for an item, select the cell to edit, just as if the grid were an Excel spreadsheet. The item label at the top of the screen will fill with the item currently being edited and the bar-code label will fill with the type of bar-code the user is updating for the current item. The code can be entered by the user or entered via a scanner for better accuracy (make sure the Remove Check Digit option is properly set for your needs). Once the entered code is correct click Update to set the code to the item. Once the bar-codes are saved this newly entered code will retrieve the item each time it is scanned.
All Orders Users:
The cells containing data other than the item's vendor part number, manufacturer part number and UPC are read only and clicking on a them will have no affect.
QuickBooks Users:
Small Business Accounting Users:
The cells containing data other than the item's UPC or imported custom fields are read only and clicking them will have no affect. If the UPC field or one of the custom fields is clicked new bar-codes can be entered in the entry box and saved.
After modifying all the necessary bar-codes, click Save & Close to save all the new codes to their corresponding item's. Once saved, all the newly entered codes will retrieve their items each time they are scanned in Pocket Inventory.
Click Cancel to clear all modifications made since the last time the bar-codes were saved.
