After the successful installation of the three components of All Orders Mobile a company file should be created from All Orders and deployed on the device.
A new company file should be created using All Orders Device Manager on the Desktop machine. For creation and setup please refer the help on the All Orders Device Manager.
After creation of the device company file from All Orders the Device Manager transfers the file to the device's \My documents folder. The device file will have the same name of the All Orders company file with .sdf extension. This company file is a compact version of All Orders database. This will have all the information from All Orders except the transaction data.
How to create company file using All Orders Device manager.
Open the All Orders Device manager under NumberCruncher from All Programs group.
On startup a Login screen appears, if any company was opened previously. Enter the user name and password for the last opened company. If you want to open a different company click Cancel.
First start the mobile device and connect to the computer using Active Sync.
Click 'Setup New Company'. The create company file window appears.
The entries are explained below.
Select Company Path : First enter the name and path of the All Orders company file in the Select Company Path text box or Use the Browse button to navigate to the company file.
Select WebService URL : The address of the installed web service on your server ( eg: http://192.0.1.158/aom_ws/service.asmx where 192.0.1.158 is the IP address of your server, aom_ws/service.asmx is the default name of the web service.)
Windows user name : The windows user on the server who have the rights to run the web service.
Windows password : Password for the above user.
Press Save & Close. This will start the creation of the company file. The status will be shown in a small window. The time taken for completion depends on your database size.
A file with the same name of All Orders with .sdf extension will be created in application folder and will be automatically transferred to the \MyDocuments folder on the device. Two supporting text files companyinfo and Lastsyncdate are also created and copied to the device.
Now the device is ready to use.
To create the company file on a second device you do not want run the above process, but connect the second device and press File Transfer with AOM on the main window. This will copy the above files to the device.
